Veteran Bollywood actress and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan faced controversy after a video surfaced of her getting angry in parliament. She was called 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' by Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, which went viral online.

In the video, the deputy chairperson addressed Jaya as "Shrimati Jaya Amitabh Bachchan ji, please." To this, she responded, "Sir, sirf Jaya Bachchan bolte to kaafi hojata (It would've been enough to call me Jaya Bachchan)."

The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress is back in the news over the Amitabh Bachchan name row. In another viral video, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar is seen addressing her as 'Smt Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' based on her official nomination papers.

Reacting to this, Jaya objected and asked, "Sir, aapko Amitabh ka matlab pata hai na?" The Chairman replied, "Ma'am aap badal dijiye, main badalwa dunga. There is a procedure to change the name that you have submitted for your election certificate. I had made use of the provision myself in 1989, and it is available for all the members. Please change it officially then."
