Will Mr And Mrs Mahi Mark A Hit For Janhvi Kapoor And Rajkummar Rao?

Mr And Mrs Mahi: After the lukewarm response to their previous film, Roohi, Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao have reunited for a new project titled Mr And Mrs Mahi. Recently, the trailer was unveiled, followed by the release of the song Dekhha Tenu. Today, another song titled Agar Ho Tum has been launched. This movie holds significant importance for both actors in terms of box office performance.

Janhvi Kapoor made her debut with the 2018 release Dhadak, co-starring Ishaan Khatter. The film received mixed reviews but was a hit at the box office. Her second theatrical release was Roohi, released amid the pandemic, featuring Rajkummar Rao as well.

Roohi underperformed at the box office, collecting Rs. 23.25 crore and was deemed a flop. Janhvi's third theatrical release, Mili (2022), was a disaster at the box office with a collection of Rs. 2.24 crore.

Since her debut, Janhvi has starred in seven films as leads, with four being OTT releases and three theatrical releases. Out of these three theatrical releases, only one has done well at the box office, while two were flops.

Rajkummar Rao is currently receiving acclaim for his performance in Srikanth. However, in terms of box office collections, he has not delivered a hit since 2018. His last successful film was Stree.

Post-Stree, he had eight theatrical releases, none of which made a significant impact at the box office. (Note: Srikanth is still running in theatres, and its verdict is pending.)

Will Mr And Mrs Mahi Be A Hit?

Both Janhvi and Rajkummar are in need of a box office hit. The trailer and songs of Mr And Mrs Mahi have generated a decent buzz. However, it remains to be seen whether audiences will turn up at theatres to watch it.

Sports dramas have struggled to attract audiences post-pandemic. A recent example is Ajay Devgn's Maidaan, which despite being well-made, did not perform well at the box office.

The fate of Mr And Mrs Mahi will be closely watched to see if it can finally deliver a hit for Janhvi and Rajkummar.
