Ishq Vishk Rebound: A Sequel That Misses The Mark Of Original Romance
Ishq Vishk Rebound Review: In 2003, Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao, and Shenaz Treasurywala starred in Ishq Vishk. Directed by Ken Ghosh, the film was a box office hit. Now, 21 years later, a spiritual sequel titled Ishq Vishk Rebound has been released. The movie features Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan, and Naila Grewal in the lead roles. Is this film worth your time and money? Find out in our review below...

The movie revolves around three childhood friends: Raghav (Rohit Saraf), Sanya (Pashmina Roshan), and Sahir (Jibraan Khan). As they grow up, Sahir and Sanya start dating but eventually break up. Raghav falls for a girl named Riya (Naila Grewal), but they also break up. Sanya and Raghav then start dating each other as a rebound. Is it love or just a rebound? What will happen when Sahir learns about this new relationship? To find out, you need to watch the film, but we recommend you don't.
The basic concept of the film offers nothing new. Without a fresh storyline, the direction becomes crucial. Unfortunately, Nipun Dharmadhikari's narration falls short. Dharmadhikari has previously directed Marathi films and won a National Award for his Marathi film Dhappa. However, he fails to deliver an entertaining film with Ishq Vishk Rebound.
The film's runtime is just 106 minutes but feels stretched, especially in the first half. The first half is very boring with weak screenplay and narration. The second half improves post-interval but dips again after a few minutes.
Rohit Saraf has been given the meatier role and performs well. He looks cute, suits the role, and delivers a good performance. Pashmina Roshan makes her debut with this film; she looks pretty and dances well but fails to impress with her acting. She needs to work on her expressions and dialogue delivery.
Jibraan Khan doesn't have much to do in the first half but gets good screen time in the second half. He is the best in the star cast, looking charming with great screen presence and leaving a strong mark with his act. Watching the film makes you want to see more of Jibraan.
One of the most disappointing elements is that Naila Grewal is wasted in this film. She is undoubtedly one of the most talented actresses currently but is given only a few scenes that don't do justice to her talent.
Kusha Kapila's cameo will surely make you laugh out loud. Supriya Pilgaonkar grabs attention, and Sheeba Chaddha proves that even with one scene, she can leave a strong mark and make it the best scene of the movie.
The music in the film is good. The recreated versions of Ishq Vishk and Gore Gore Mukhde Pe grab attention. The choreography of the songs is also commendable.
Ishq Vishk Rebound Review Final Verdict
Overall, Ishq Vishk Rebound turns out to be a boring film due to weak narration. It might attract GenZ or Gen Alpha viewers, but on the whole, it fails to entertain. It's better to watch Shahid Kapoor-Amrita Rao starrer Ishq Vishk on Amazon Prime Video.
