IFFM 2024 Full Winners List: Excellence In Indian Cinema Celebrated
Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024 Winners: The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) awards night concluded with a grand ceremony, celebrating the finest in Indian cinema. This year's event honoured exceptional talents and films, making it a memorable evening for all attendees. Ram Charan and Dr AR Rahman received the top accolades for their remarkable contributions to cinema.
The festival, held from August 15th to 25th, 2024, showcased a wide array of films that highlighted the richness of Indian cinema. The awards ceremony was the perfect finale to a week filled with cinematic excellence.

Kartik Aaryan won the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance, reinforcing his status as one of India's most versatile actors. Acclaimed filmmakers Kabir Khan and Nithilan Swaminathan shared the Best Director award for their exceptional work on "Chandu Champion" and "Maharaja," respectively.
Two films received special recognition for their significant contributions to Indian cinema. Vidhu Vinod Chopra's "12th Fail" was celebrated for its inspiring narrative, while Kiran Rao's "Laapataa Ladies" was honoured for its innovative storytelling approach.
The Excellence in Cinema award went to Dr AR Rahman, while Ram Charan was named Ambassador of Indian Art & Culture. Other notable awards included Dunki for Equality in Cinema and Rasika Dugal as Diversity Champion. Adarsh Gourav was recognised as the Disruptor in Cinema.
The Breakout Film of the Year was awarded to "Amar Singh Chamkila." The Short Film Competition saw "The Vegemite Sandwich" win, with a special mention for "Echo." "Trolley Times" took home the Best Documentary award.
Series Awards
"Kohhra" won Best Series, with Arjun Mathur receiving Best Actor in a Series for "Made In Heaven Season 2." Nimisha Sajayan was named Best Actress in a Series for her role in "Poacher."
Critics' Choice Awards
"Laapata Ladies" won Best Film (Critics Choice), while Dominic Sangma was awarded Best Director (Critics Choice) for "Rimdogittanga (Rapture)." Vikrant Massey received the Best Performance of the Year (Critics) for his role in "12th Fail."
Jury Awards
The Jury Awards saw Parvathy Thiruvothu win Best Actress for her performance in "Ullozhukku (Undercurrent)." Kartik Aaryan secured another accolade as Best Actor for "Chandu Champion." Kabir Khan and Nithilan Swaminathan were jointly awarded Best Director once again. The Best Film award went to "12th Fail."
