Jharkhand's Umesh: Could He Be The Rural Indian Mr. Beast?

Meet Umesh, a man in his late 30s from Ramgad, Jharkhand. He is a Bhojpuri (Jharkhandi) content creator who addresses the common people around him. While his mission is to help people in need, his unique style of helping needy people and then sharing each story with the world has earned him fame. Could Umesh become rural India's Mr. Beast?

His journey started in a small farming town in rural Jharkhand. He aspired to become a civil servant but had to drop his dream during the COVID pandemic. Despite this setback, he decided to help people anyway. "It was never easy to help others when I myself had no job and no support from family, but I had to go on," says Umesh.

Umesh: India's Own Mr. Beast?

He started a tech YouTube Channel but his goal remained - helping needy people. He learnt tricks to engage people on his tech channel but also launched a second channel. The second channel, where he posts videos of helping people on the street, soon took off. See here.

By helping others, Umesh feels like he is unofficially a civil servant. As his good deeds started reaching the right audience and his views and followers grew, he increased his focus. Umesh travelled throughout the state of Jharkhand to find more needy people. With constant struggle, today his content speaks Bharat loudly as his audience as well the language of the content is totally desi.

Like here he is showing the struggle of Indian Labour class and got lot of views and shares from Bharat viewers on Josh. He shows the real-life problems of people living on streets mostly and tries to solve them with basic things like rice, sugar, biscuits etc. Umesh's down-to-earth style and the issues that trouble the country's masses give him a unique connection with his followers.

Each video radiates Umesh's infectious positivity and will to help others. Like this video: where he helps an uncle with basic things. Also here, where he quickly spots the needy old woman who couldn't walk properly.

Today, Umesh has earned his biggest fan following on the short video platform Josh. With a whopping 250 million monthly active users, 40% of whom reside in non-metro areas of India, Josh is the natural destination for creators like Umesh - the audience truly connects with this type of content.

Umesh's heart-touching videos have now enabled him to earn money on Josh. Actually, many creators are generating side income by uploading content that resonates with real India, which they invest into their crafts on Josh. Josh has Creator Pro - A program that judges creators by the engagement and how its audience reacts to their videos and not by how many followers they have.

"I am glad that I don't have to rely on Family now. Creator Pro helps me earn income while staying true to my passion and showing real India through my videos. I remember I started earning with very few videos and followers on my account," Umesh added.

From his early setback to his transition into a Mr. Beast-like creator, Umesh's evolution reflects his perseverance, drawing inspiration from the stories and struggles of ordinary Indians. Today Umesh is so inspired by the support from his fans that he wishes to start an NGO and already has a team of 20+ volunteers helping him help others!
