Shraddha Kapoor Discusses The Importance Of Strong Female Characters In Modern Cinema

In "Stree 2," Shraddha took on a prominent role, showcasing a powerful female character. During discussions about this theme, she emphasised the significance of strong female roles in cinema.

At the India Economic Conclave 2024, Shraddha expressed her excitement about the evolving film industry. She stated, "And I think that that is exciting as an industry, and it's very exciting to be a part of that. I feel like,the fact that you know,these characters, whether it's my character that I'm playing, they are strong characters for women to play, and it's such an exciting time that you get to play such a strong character who is active in the narrative of the film, in the storytelling, right? So it's an exciting time, even for that, even for women in the industry. (sic)"

Shraddha further elaborated on how this era is beneficial for everyone involved in filmmaking. She remarked, "I think this is the best time in cinema for everybody-filmmakers, directors, actors. This is the time where you have, especially after the pandemic, also with the rise of the OTT, where there are so many more opportunities, new talent coming up. You have new talent who are willing to take and make those choices where they're saying, And so you don't necessarily have to be an established female actor as well now because people are having that faith in younger actors as well to spearhead films. Just the way, Dino also offered me Stree, I was like, "You're offering me a film called 'Stree,' you're offering me a character who's so strong." So, yeah, absolutely, I think it's a fabulous time."
