IIFA Awards 2025: 'Laapata Ladies' Triumphs with Multiple Wins
It was indeed a win for the ladies on International Women's Day weekend! This year's IIFA Awards marked a significant milestone as it observed its 25th edition in Jaipur, diverging from its three-year streak of celebrations in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The event kicked off by honoring outstanding achievements in OTT films and series, setting the stage on Saturday (March 8) for a weekend filled with accolades for cinematic excellence. As the festivities unfolded, the spotlight turned to the film awards, culminating in a night of triumphs for the crème de la crème of the industry.
Among the standout successes, "Laapataa Ladies," a social dramedy directed by Kiran Rao, took center stage as the evening's most celebrated film. The movie clinched an impressive haul of 10 awards, positioning itself as the undisputed highlight of the awards ceremony. This achievement underscored the film's exceptional contribution to the cinematic landscape, resonating well with both audiences and critics alike.
The film won awards including Best Performance In A Leading Role (Female), Best Picture, Best Performance In A Supporting Role (Male), Best Direction among others.
Kartik Aaryan lifted the trophy for Best Performance In A Leading Role (Male) for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Raghav Juyal was named the Best Performance In A Negative Role for Kill.
