The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA 2024) festivities continued into their second day in Abu Dhabi on Saturday evening, uniting a constellation of Bollywood's finest for a night filled with glamour, accolades, and memorable performances. Stars like Hema Malini, Rekha, Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Anil Kapoor, among others, graced the event, making it a star-studded evening. The highlight of the event was the awards ceremony, where the industry's best were celebrated for their contributions to Indian cinema over the past year.

Among the celebrated, Ranbir Kapoor's film "Animal," directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, stood out, securing multiple awards including Best Film. Khan won Best Actor for his role in "Jawan," while Rani Mukerji was honored with Best Actress for her performance in "Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway." The event also recognized achievements in directing, supporting roles, music, and more, showcasing the diverse talent within the industry.

In a display of his ever-charming presence, Shah Rukh Khan took center stage not only as a recipient of one of the night's prestigious awards but also as a host. Together with Vicky Kaushal and Karan Johar, Khan entertained the audience, dancing to his hit song "Jhoome Jo Pathaan," captivating attendees with his performance. His acceptance speech was equally memorable, where he graciously thanked his fellow nominees and expressed gratitude towards his wife, Gauri, for her support, especially during the challenging times encountered while making "Jawan."

The event, which spanned three days, kicked off with IIFA Utsavam, celebrating the southern film industries, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema. The concluding day promises more entertainment with IIFA Rocks, an exclusive event featuring performances by renowned artists like Honey Singh, Shilpa Rao, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. This year's IIFA not only honored outstanding achievements in Indian cinema but also brought together the industry's luminaries to commemorate their collective contributions to the art form.

In his speech, Shah Rukh reflected on the competition, saying, "I want to thank all other nominees — Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Vikrant Massey — he was great in the film — Vicky Kaushal, Sunny Paji. I think all of them were great, but I got an edge because people were happy that I worked after so long." He also shared a light-hearted moment, acknowledging the financial support of his wife, Gauri, during a tough period, "Somebody reminded me that money needs to be put into a film. So I want to thank Gauri. She may be the only wife who's spending more on the husband than the other way around. We were going through a tough time while making Jawan."
