IFP Season 14: A Celebration Of Creativity And Culture At Mumbai's Mehboob Studios

The fourteenth edition of the IFP festival, a celebration of creativity and culture, attracted over 15,000 attendees to Mehboob Studios in Mumbai on October 12 and 13, 2024. This event served as a vibrant gathering for professionals from diverse creative fields such as filmmaking, music, writing, and comedy. The festival offered an array of activities including workshops, live performances, masterclasses, and debates.

One of the festival's highlights was Hollywood star Joseph Gordon-Levitt's first visit to India. He opened the event alongside Rajkummar Rao. The first day featured sessions on film production, comedy, music supervision, and storytelling across different formats. Notable personalities like Aparna Purohit, Guneet Monga, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra shared their insights. Interactive sessions with artists like Naseeruddin Shah and Ankur Tewari added depth to the festival.

Day two continued to engage attendees with a session by Shoojit Sircar on filmmaking nuances. Discussions included celebrities like Kartik Aaryan and Taapsee Pannu exploring AI in art, narrative subversion, and the future of music and literature. This day showcased diverse talents while providing a platform for emerging stars, reflecting the festival's dedication to nurturing new talent.

The festival also celebrated global creativity through its 50-hour challenges that drew 54,000 entries across various categories. This competition allowed creators to showcase their work and connect with peers. Activities such as debate rings, mixers, and live performances highlighted the dynamic spirit of the creative community.

Reflecting on the festival's success, IFP Founder Ritam Bhatnagar expressed his excitement: "We are thrilled to announce that the fourteenth season of IFP has been truly extraordinary... A standout moment was the inaugural visit of acclaimed actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt to India specifically for IFP... participants from 42 countries and attendees from 9 countries joined us."
