Shah Rukh Khan Tops India's Highest Celebrity Taxpayers List For 2023

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan led the list of celebrity taxpayers with an advance tax payment of Rs 92 crore for the fiscal year 2023-24, according to Fortune India Magazine. Tamil actor 'Thalapathy' Vijay followed in second place, while Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan secured the third and fourth positions respectively.

Virat Kohli emerged as the highest taxpayer among cricketers, paying Rs 66 crore in advance tax for the same period. "Shah Rukh Khan tops the list of celebrity taxpayers in FY24 while Tamil superstar 'Thalapathy' Vijay moves ahead of the likes of Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Virat Kohli to emerge second (Advance Tax payment, FY24)," stated Fortune India. 'Thalapathy' Vijay paid Rs 80 crore in advance tax, followed by Salman Khan with Rs 75 crore and Amitabh Bachchan with Rs 71 crore.

Other notable names from the film industry also made significant contributions. Ajay Devgn paid Rs 42 crore, Ranbir Kapoor contributed Rs 36 crore, Hrithik Roshan paid Rs 28 crore, Kapil Sharma shelled out Rs 26 crore, Kareena Kapoor paid Rs 20 crore, and Shahid Kapoor contributed Rs 14 crore. Both Mohan Lal and Allu Arjun paid Rs 14 crore each, while Kiara Advani paid Rs 12 crore.

In addition to Virat Kohli's substantial tax payment, other cricketers also made it to the list. M S Dhoni paid an advance tax of Rs 38 crore. Legendary cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly paid Rs 28 crore and Rs 23 crore respectively. Hardik Pandya contributed Rs 13 crore, while Rishabh Pant paid Rs 10 crore in taxes.

Katrina Kaif and Pankaj Tripathi both paid an advance tax of Rs 11 crore each for FY24. Aamir Khan also featured on the list with a contribution of Rs 10 crore.

The list compiled by Fortune India Magazine highlights the significant contributions made by celebrities from various fields through their advance tax payments for the fiscal year 2023-24.
