Harsha Richhariya Expresses Deep Shock Following Stampede At Maha Kumbh Mela 2025
The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 is drawing people from across the globe to the sacred Triveni Sangam for a holy dip. This event, occurring once every 144 years, is considered highly significant and auspicious. Unfortunately, a stampede erupted on Wednesday morning as crowds gathered for the 'Amrit snan' during Mauni Amavasya. Many lives were lost, and numerous individuals were injured. Although authorities have managed to restore order, the incident has left many in distress.
Spiritual seeker and social activist Harsha Richhariya, present at the Maha Kumbh, expressed her shock over the tragic stampede. She stated, "Around 600 people lost their lives till now, and 3500 are estimated to be injured. It was horrible."

In a gesture of sympathy towards the families affected by the tragedy, Harsha took a simple holy dip on Mauni Amavasya. She mentioned, "I didn't attend any shahi rath yatra. I was too heartbroken to attend it."
Harsha further shared insights into her experience with some sadhus at the event. She recounted their words: "Some of the sadhus said, 'We will see how Harsha will do shahi snaan. We will not let her do this in any condition, and now Mahadev cancelled every shahi snaan for every sadhu sant.' In Sanskrit we say: यत्र नार्येस्तू पूज्यन्ते, रमंते तत्र देवता, which means, जहाँ स्त्रियों का सम्मान होता है वहाँ देवताओं का वास होता है और जहाँ स्त्री का अपमान होता है वहाँ देवता भी नहीं रुकते (The gods reside where the women are respected.)"
