Gurpreet Ghuggi On Reuniting With Akshay Kumar: A Balancing Act Between Bollywood And Punjabi Cinema

Gurpreet Ghuggi and Akshay Kumar have collaborated on numerous films, including Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Namastey London, Singh Is King, Joker, Khiladi 786, Singh Is Bliing, and Cuttputlli. Their comedic scenes have left audiences in splits. Filmibeat recently caught up with Gurpreet Ghuggi, who is gearing up for his next Punjabi film, Ardaas Sarbat De Bhale Di.

The upcoming Punjabi movie Ardaas Sarbat De Bhale Di features Gippy Grewal and Jasmine Bhasin alongside Gurpreet Ghuggi. Directed by Gippy Grewal, this third instalment of the Ardaas series is set to hit theatres on 13th September 2024.

When asked about working with Akshay Kumar again, Gurpreet responded positively but highlighted scheduling challenges. He said, "Yes of course, if there's something we will work again. But, you know from 365 days, 350 days we are busy. If there's an offer from here (Bollywood), we get scared because they take a lot of days and the work is less, and in those days, we (Punjabi film industry) make a whole film."

Akshay Kumar has an impressive lineup of films such as Welcome 3, Housefull 5, Hera Pheri 3, Singham Again, Jolly LLB 3, C. Sankaran Nair's Biopic, and Bhooth Bangla. On his birthday today, Priyadarshan announced Bhooth Bangla. Despite recent box office setbacks, there is optimism that Akshay will soon reclaim his success.

Gurpreet also mentioned the financial aspects of working in different industries. He noted that Bollywood offers less money compared to the Punjabi film industry where he earns more while having more free time at home. "Here they give us less money and there we get more money and we sit at home (smiles). Yes, of course, if we were not getting good work there (Punjabi film industry), then definitely we would have been dependent and do struggle here," he added.

Although Gurpreet Ghuggi has appeared in many Hindi films, he primarily works in Punjabi cinema. He gained widespread recognition after participating in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.

The anticipation for Ardaas Sarbat De Bhale Di is high among fans eager to see Gurpreet Ghuggi's performance alongside Gippy Grewal and Jasmine Bhasin.
