Gulshan Devaiah Reflects On Resilience In Film Industry Amidst Vibe Controversy

Gulshan Devaiah has been a part of the film industry for nearly 14 years, earning acclaim for his roles in movies like Shaitan, Hate Story, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Hunterrr, and Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. Recently, he appeared in Ulajh alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Although the film didn't perform well at the box office and received mixed reviews from critics, Gulshan's performance was widely appreciated.

In an interview with Filmibeat, Gulshan addressed the viral statement about not vibing with Janhvi Kapoor. He said, "Yes, everyone is saying Vibe Vibe Vibe. It is like that is the only thing I want to talk about."

Devaiah on Film Industry Resilience

When asked if he felt his statement was blown out of proportion, Gulshan explained, "I think it was cut also in a way; it was quite abrupt. In fact, they cut off some portions of what Janhvi said. She mentioned that the producer called her up and told her to 'hang out with Gulshan'. The intimidation word she used wasn't meant in that way. I think people took it differently and ran with it. I've noticed some very nasty comments online. It's not nice to be that nasty. You can have your dislikes and criticisms. If you don't like someone's work, you can say it, but you cannot be nasty."

"Sometimes you don't have to necessarily vibe with somebody to do your job effectively," he added. "I never felt that she was unprofessional or disrespectful. She was a bit reserved but very respectful. It never felt difficult to work with her."

Following Ulajh, Gulshan will be seen in a film titled Little Thomas. During our interview, he mentioned that he is currently filming for several projects but will discuss them later.

Before Ulajh's release, a statement from Gulshan about not vibing with Janhvi went viral during an interview with the team. This topic has since been brought up repeatedly in subsequent interviews.

He further revealed that he is being asked about it in every interview and has to repeat himself constantly. The actor said, "Now, every time I do an interview, everybody wants to ask me about the same thing, and I have nothing different to say. It seems like I am having to do this more than what I was required to do. But this is the nature of this business; sometimes you have to repeat yourself. I don't take these things seriously, and in this business you have to be thick-skinned; it's difficult for thin-skinned people to survive."
