GoFlo Run Launch In Mumbai Unites Women For Fitness And Menstrual Hygiene Awareness

A significant event unfolded at the MMRDA Grounds in BKC, focusing on fitness and women's empowerment. The inaugural GoFlo Run united a large group of women advocating for menstrual hygiene awareness. Supported by Stayfree and Nova Saki Media, the event featured prominent figures like Neha Dhupia, Sonu Sood, and Anita Lobo, an ex-national athlete and Director of GoFloRun, emphasizing the importance of women's health.

The day began with an energizing Zumba session that set a lively tone. Women from diverse backgrounds participated in 10km, 5km, and 3km runs. This gathering was more than just a physical event; it celebrated resilience and unity. It aimed to break stigmas and promote well-being, sending a powerful message beyond the venue's boundaries.

GoFlo Run Celebrates Women's Health in Mumbai

Notable personalities such as Siddharth Nigam and Saiyami Kher joined professionals from various fields like gynecology, fitness, and psychiatry. Dr. Nozer Sheriar from C3, Brinston Miranda, Dr. Rickson Pereira, Ayesha Billimoria, Dr. Sapna Bangar, along with representatives from C3 and Stayfree's Manoj Gadgil were present. Their involvement was crucial in driving the initiative towards its transformative goal.

Neha Dhupia expressed her thoughts on the day's significance, highlighting solidarity among participants. "What moved me most today wasn't just the number of women who showed up, but the stories behind each face—the courage it takes to show up for yourself and for each other. It's about more than fitness or breaking stigmas; it's about saying, 'I see you, I stand with you.' GoFlo Run has given us a space where we can celebrate those small yet profound acts of strength."

Anita Lobo echoed this sentiment by emphasizing how the event transformed solitary struggles into a collective journey of support. "Standing here today, surrounded by so many incredible women, I'm reminded of the quiet struggles we often face alone—juggling health, responsibilities, and societal expectations. GoFlo Run is about changing that narrative."

Sonu Sood praised the event's groundbreaking nature while Saiyami Kher shared her marathon experiences. "GoFlo Run has set an incredible precedent," said Sood. Kher added her personal insights: "I completed my first full marathon in 2016... running isn't just about physical fitness—it's so much more."

Emotional Journey Beyond Physical Fitness

Siddharth Nigam highlighted the emotional aspect of participating in such events: "GoFlo Run is not just a physical journey but an emotional one." His words underscored how this run was a testament to unity and determination among participants.

As the event concluded, it was evident that it had fostered a strong sense of community among participants. They committed not only to their health but also to raising awareness about menstrual hygiene. The first GoFlo Run has set a high standard for future events by turning fitness into a celebration of empowerment and community.
