Richa Chadha And Kani Kusruti Celebrate Nominations For 'Girls Will Be Girls' At Independent Spirit Awards

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal's debut production, "Girls Will Be Girls," has garnered international recognition with two nominations at the 40th Independent Spirit Awards. The film is a contender for the John Cassavetes Award, which acknowledges films made with budgets under $1 million. Richa Chadha, as the producer, receives a nomination, while lead actor Kani Kusruti is nominated for Best Supporting Performance.

Directed by Shuchi Talati and produced under the Pushing Buttons Studio banner, "Girls Will Be Girls" is a coming-of-age drama that has captivated audiences worldwide. It first gained attention at the Sundance Film Festival and has since been released in the US, UK, and France. The film is set to premiere in India on 18th December 2024, exclusively on Prime Video.

The John Cassavetes Award celebrates independent filmmaking excellence, and both Richa Chadha and Shuchi Talati are nominated for their roles as producer and director.
