Ghudchadi Review: Raveena Tandon And Parth Samthaan Elevate An Otherwise Average Film

Ghudchadi Review: In 2022, the film Ghudchadi featuring Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Khushalii Kumar, and Parth Samthaan was announced. The announcement generated significant excitement for various reasons. Now, after two years, the movie has premiered on Jio Cinema. So, is this movie worth the wait? Find out in our review below...

The story centres around Chirag (Parth Samthaan) whose grandmother Kalyani (Aruna Irani) wants him to marry soon. At a wedding, he meets Devika (Khushalii Kumar), and they fall in love instantly and start dating. Chirag's father Veer (Sanjay Dutt), a widower, encounters his ex-girlfriend Menaka (Raveena Tandon), who happens to be Devika's mother. As the younger couple romances, so do their parents. What unfolds when everyone discovers this situation?

Ghudchadi: Stellar Acts in Average Film

Despite the film's shortcomings, the actors strive to elevate it. Raveena Tandon shines and demonstrates that at 49, she can still portray a romantic heroine convincingly. She excels in comedy, emotional scenes, and romance. Khushalii Kumar looks stunning and delivers a commendable performance; her emotional scene in the climax is particularly moving.

Parth Samthaan fans will be delighted with his performance. He has great screen presence and performs admirably as a hero. We hope to see him in more films. Sanjay Dutt excels in comedy and emotional scenes but falls short in romance. Aruna Irani performs well but her character feels outdated.

The film's music is quite enjoyable. "Punjabi Munde" is already a hit and "Dil Vasda" also captures attention.

The basic concept of Ghudchadi is refreshing and offers something new. However, the storyline fails to translate into an engaging film. The first half is bland and lacks humour. The interval block is hilarious, improving the second half significantly with an emotional climax that resonates well.

The issue with Ghudchadi lies in its narration which resembles an early 2000s TV serial. The dialogues, especially those by Kalyani's character, are cringeworthy at times. With better narration, the film could have been much more impactful.

Ghudchadi Review Final Verdict

Overall, Ghudchadi had potential with its concept but falls short as a film. However, if you are a fan of Raveena Tandon, Khushalii Kumar or Parth Samthaan, it is worth watching!
