Filmfare Awards 2024: Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt Among Top Winners
The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards, a prestigious event celebrating the best in Bollywood, recently concluded with Zee TV holding the telecast rights. This year's ceremony saw a plethora of talent being recognized for their contributions to Indian cinema. Among the notable winners were Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who clinched the Best Actress and Best Actor awards for their roles in "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" and "Animal," respectively.
"Animal" emerged as the biggest winner of the night, bagging a total of six awards. Following closely was "12th Fail," which not only won the Best Film award but also saw its director, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, being honored with the Best Director award. The event was marked by a celebration of both established talents and newcomers, highlighting the diverse and dynamic nature of Bollywood.

The Filmfare Awards 2024 celebrated achievements across various categories. Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal in "Animal" earned him the Best Actor (Male) award, while Alia Bhatt's performance in "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" secured her the Best Actor (Female) accolade. "12th Fail" stood out by winning the Best Film award, with Vidhu Vinod Chopra being recognized as the Best Director for the same film.
Critics' choice awards went to Vikrant Massey and Rani Mukerji for their performances in "12th Fail" and "Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway," respectively, with Shefali Shah also being honored for "Three Of Us." The Best Film (Critics') award was presented to "Joram" by Devashish Makhija.
In supporting roles, Vicky Kaushal and Shabana Azmi were awarded for their performances in "Dunki" and "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani," respectively. The ceremony also celebrated new talent with Tarun Dudeja receiving the Best Debut Director for "Dhak Dhak," and Alizeh Agnihotri and Aditya Rawal winning the Best Debut Actor awards for their respective films.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon David Dhawan, recognizing his enduring contribution to Indian cinema. The music category saw Bhupinder Babbal and Shilpa Rao winning Best Playback Singer awards for their songs in "Animal" and "Pathaan," respectively. The award for Best Music was collectively given to a team led by Pritam for their work in "Animal."
Other notable awards included Best Story, which was shared by Amit Rai for "OMG 2" and Devashish Makhija for "Joram." Amitabh Bhattacharya won Best Lyrics for his work in "Tere Vaaste, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke," while Ishita Moitra was recognized for Best Dialogues in "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani." The RD Burman Music Award for upcoming talent was awarded to Shreyas Puranik for his work in "Satranga, Animal."
