Fateh Box Office Collection Day 1: Sonu Sood’s Film Earns Rs 2.45 Crores Amid Mixed Reviews

Sonu Sood's directorial debut, "Fateh," has captured significant attention. This action thriller, penned and produced by Sonu, features a notable cast including Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, Naseeruddin Shah, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. The film marks Sonu's first collaboration with Jacqueline, and their on-screen chemistry has been a highlight for viewers.

The storyline of "Fateh" centres on a former special operations officer, portrayed by Sonu Sood, who confronts a cybercrime syndicate while dealing with his troubled past. The film's trailer and songs have impressed audiences, though it has received mixed reviews from both viewers and critics. Despite this, the movie experienced a slow start at the box office.

On its opening day, "Fateh" struggled to make a significant impact at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 2.45 crores on its first Friday. Notably, it fell just Rs 15 lakhs short of surpassing the lifetime earnings of Sonu Sood's 2016 film "Tutak Tutak Tutiya," which starred Prabhu Deva and Tamannaah Bhatia.

For Jacqueline Fernandez, "Fateh" represents her lowest Bollywood opening since the pandemic began. Her previous low was with the Kannada film "Vikrant Rona" in 2022, which garnered Rs 1.1 crore on its first day in Hindi-speaking regions.

Comparisons between "Fateh" and Ranbir Kapoor's "Animal" arose after the trailer release. Addressing this, Sonu explained to India Today Digital that they faced challenges during production. He said, "The problem was, we hired around 70-80 fighters for about three major action sequences. In a single shot, we show 70 people getting killed by my character. Now, we didn't have enough people for the remaining action sequences. Because we had already shown the faces of the fighters earlier, we decided to cast them again with masks." He further mentioned that using fighters from Mexico and South Africa made immediate replacements impractical.
