Farhan Akhtar On Becoming A Boxer For Toofan: An Intense Journey

In "Toofan," Farhan Akhtar portrayed Boxer Aziz Ali, an inspirational character. To prepare for this role, he spent two hours daily practising boxing. Additionally, he dedicated five to six months mastering boxing fundamentals, including various skills and techniques.

"We didn't train for a film; we trained to be a boxer," Farhan stated in a behind-the-scenes video mini-documentary of "Toofan." His dedication is evident in the film.

He further elaborated, "Roughly about five to six months were spent learning the ABCs, techniques, and physically preparing myself. We did train for a film. We trained to be a boxer."

"Toofaan," starring Paresh Rawal, Mrunal Thakur, and Hussain Dalal alongside Farhan Akhtar, was produced by Excel Entertainment. The story revolves around an orphaned extortionist in Dongri who beats up shopkeepers for money. After getting into a fight and ending up in a hospital, Dr Ananya Prabhu (played by Mrunal Thakur) criticizes him for being an extortionist and orders him out. The film received positive feedback from streaming audiences, with special appreciation for Farhan's performance.

Upcoming Projects

Currently, Farhan is preparing for his upcoming untitled project. In an interview with an entertainment news portal a few months ago, he revealed that shooting would commence in July 2024.
