Fardeen Khan Defends Sharmin Segal Amidst Heeramandi Trolling
Heeramandi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar" has garnered global acclaim. However, Sharmin Segal's performance has sparked online debate. Amid criticism, various actors have supported her. Recently, her co-star Fardeen Khan defended her.
Comments have ranged from constructive feedback to outright trolling. This has sparked a conversation about the pressures faced by actors and the impact of public opinion on their careers.

"Heeramandi" features an ensemble cast, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditi Rao Hydari. The series is set in pre-independence India and delves into the lives of courtesans. Bhansali, known for his opulent productions, has put significant effort into the show's visual and narrative quality.
In an interview, Khan expressed his views on the situation. "I think it's extremely unfortunate, the whole trolling aspect of it. Everyone has a right to like or unlike someone's performance but this whole trolling aspect is something that is simply wrong and not done," he said.
Khan praised Segal's efforts, noting her role's complexity. "She has a very complex challenging role and she was working with some mega talent out there. For me she came across strong and it was a great start for her career and started acting in general," he added.
Directed by Bhansali, "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar" is an eight-part series. It started streaming on Netflix from May 1st and is available in 190 countries. Regardless of the critiques, the series has successfully attracted a large number of viewers, contributing to the ongoing popularity of historical dramas in the Indian entertainment industry.
