Farah Khan Pays Heartfelt Tribute To Late Mother Menka Irani
Farah Khan's mother, Menka Irani, passed away late last month. The funeral saw attendance from Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, Gauri Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Abhishek Bachchan. Weeks after the event, Farah shared an emotional Instagram post with unseen old pictures of her mother.
On Monday morning, Farah Khan posted several old photos of herself with her mother. These included childhood, adulthood, and wedding pictures. She described her mother as unique and generous. Farah wrote, "My mom was a very unique person.. never wanted the limelight or any fuss around her.. despite the hard knocks she faced in her early life she was a rare one who had no bitterness or envy towards anyone."

Farah continued to express how everyone who met her mother loved her and realised where their sense of humour came from. "Everyone who met her loved her n realised where we get our sense of humour from. Well hardly.. she was far wittier n funny than both sajid n i put together," she added.
She also shared that many people came forward to express their condolences and share stories of how Menka helped them financially without expecting anything in return. "I don't know if she can see the outpouring of genuine love n condolences that have come for her .. not only frm our friends n of course family but so many of her colleagues n people who worked in our house came saying how my mom had helped them with loans or sending them money.. never expecting it back," Farah wrote.
Menka Irani was the mother of Bollywood filmmakers Farah Khan and Sajid Khan. She was also the sister of Honey Irani and aunt to Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar.
Farah expressed gratitude to everyone who supported them during this difficult time. She thanked those who messaged and visited them at home. "Thank you to all who came home to be with us in our grief.." she mentioned.
She also appreciated the doctors and nurses at Nanavati Hospital for their efforts in caring for her mother. "To all her doctors n nurses at Nanavati hospital who tried their best everyday," she wrote.
In addition, Farah acknowledged consulting doctors from Chandigarh PGI and Belle Vue Hospital for giving them more time with Menka. "N to our consulting docs frm Chandigarh pgi n belle vue hospital.. We are grateful you gave us some more days with her," she added.
Farah concluded by stating that it's time to return to work as that is what made her mother proud. "Its time to get back to work.. that's what she was always proud of. Our work!"
