European Union Film Festival In Delhi Concludes With Screening Of 'Jim's Story'
The 29th European Union Film Festival (EUFF) in Delhi concluded with the screening of "Jim's Story," a French comedy-drama by Jean-Marie Larrieu and Arnaud Larrieu. The festival began on November 7 with the Italian film "La Chimera," directed by Alice Rohrwacher. This year's event, organised by the European Union alongside EU Member States and regional partners, celebrated European cinema.
The festival showcased 26 award-winning films in 31 languages, offering insights into Europe's society, culture, and people. The closing ceremony featured "Jim's Story," adapted from Pierric Bailly's 2021 novel. Films from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Ukraine were screened during the 10-day event.

Festival curator Veronica Flora expressed her gratitude for the successful completion of this edition. She stated that the festival was a unique exploration of diverse voices and cultures that transcend borders. "As we draw curtains on the New Delhi chapter of the 29th edition of the European Union Film Festival," Flora said in a statement.
"I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude and fulfilment. This festival has been a distinct exploration of diverse voices, cultures and stories that transcend borders." She highlighted how cinema can ignite conversations and evoke emotions. Each film at EUFF 2024 offered a unique glimpse into Europe's heart.
Following its conclusion in New Delhi on November 17th, EUFF will continue its journey to Kolkata from November 27 to December 13. It will then move to Hyderabad from December 6 to December 15. These events aim to further showcase European cinema across different regions.
This annual celebration continues to highlight the power of cinema in challenging perspectives and sparking discussions. The festival remains an important platform for sharing European stories with audiences worldwide.
