The Bollywood scene is buzzing with excitement as two major films, Kangana Ranaut's "Emergency" and Ajay Devgn's "Azaad," are set to release on January 17, 2025. Both films promise engaging historical narratives, drawing significant attention from audiences. "Emergency" explores the life of India's former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the controversial emergency period. Meanwhile, "Azaad" introduces newcomers Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgan alongside Diana Penty in a historical drama.
"Azaad," featuring Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty, had a moderate start at the box office. According to Sacnilk, it earned Rs 1.5 crores on its first day. The film saw a footfall rate of 15.02% upon release, indicating a decent audience turnout for its opening.

In contrast, "Emergency," starring Kangana Ranaut with Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Satish Kaushik, surpassed expectations on its first day. The film collected Rs 2.35 crores on its debut Friday, outperforming initial predictions.
