Emergency Box Office Collection Day 5 Prediction: Kangana Ranaut's Film Faces Tough Times Ahead
Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency has drawn attention from audiences and critics since its announcement. Directed, written, and co-produced by Kangana, who also plays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the film revisits a pivotal historical moment. The anticipation for its release was high, especially after the trailer piqued interest last year.
The movie features Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan and Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, enriching the historical storyline. Milind Soman portrays Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, with Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, and Satish Kaushik delivering notable performances. This ensemble cast aimed to provide a detailed exploration of this complex period in Indian history. Despite the buzz and controversy surrounding it, Emergency received mixed reactions from viewers.

Emergency maintained a strong presence at the box office over its opening weekend but experienced a significant drop of over 70% in earnings on Monday. According to Sacnilk's report, the film earned Rs 1 crore on day four (first Monday), bringing its total collection to Rs 11.35 crores.
Currently, Emergency faces controversy as the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) called for a ban in Punjab, fearing it might incite anger within the Sikh community. SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami addressed this concern in a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Kangana responded by saying, "This is complete harassment of art and the artist... I have utmost respect for all religions... This is a complete lie and propaganda to tarnish my image and harm my film #Emergency."
Based on current trends, Emergency is expected to slow down on day five (first Tuesday). The film is predicted to earn between Rs 80 lakhs and Rs 1 crore today, potentially surpassing the Rs 12 crore mark.
The film's cast and storyline have sparked discussions about India's history. However, despite its initial excitement and controversies, audience reactions remain varied. As Emergency continues its run in cinemas, its financial performance will be closely monitored by industry observers.
