Emergency Box Office Collection Day 2: Kangana Ranaut's Political Drama Sees Growth In Earnings

The film "Emergency," featuring Kangana Ranaut, has been the centre of attention due to its controversial themes. Released after several delays, it has achieved a notable opening, surpassing the first-day box office records of Kangana's films from the past five years. Despite receiving mixed reviews from audiences and critics, the movie's box office numbers have shown improvement since its debut.

On its second day, "Emergency" collected Rs. 2.74 crore by 9 pm, according to early reports from Sacnilk. This marks a slight increase compared to its first-day earnings of Rs. 2.5 crore. Consequently, the film's total net collection in India has reached Rs. 5.24 crore.

The film's gross collection in India on its opening day was Rs. 2.90 crore, which was also mirrored by its worldwide earnings. The Hindi version of the movie had an occupancy rate of 19.26% on the first day.

Kangana Ranaut portrays Indira Gandhi, India's former Prime Minister, in this political drama. The cast also includes Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Satish Kaushik, Milind Soman, and Bhumika Chawla among others. The storyline focuses on the 'emergency' period in Indian history when civil liberties were curtailed.

Discussing the film with Variety, Kangana Ranaut stated: "It's not for us to judge or evaluate. It is what it is. When people see the film they will realize that it is such an honest take on the Emergency, what led to it and what eventually came of it."
