ED Investigation Uncovers Irregularities In Coldplay And Diljit Concert Ticket Sales Across Five States
Concert tickets have become a hot commodity in 2024, with fans eagerly trying to secure spots for live events. When tickets for Diljit Dosanjh's concert were released, they sold out in mere seconds, leaving many fans disappointed. The same scenario unfolded with Coldplay's concert tickets, as hopeful attendees faced similar challenges. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has stepped in to investigate the issues surrounding these ticket sales.
The ED announced on Saturday that they uncovered alleged "irregularities" during their investigation into the "black marketing" of tickets for Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh's concerts. On Friday, raids were conducted at 13 locations across cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bengaluru, and Chandigarh. Typically, platforms like Zomato and BookMyShow handle ticket sales. However, due to overwhelming demand, tickets vanished quickly, prompting people to seek alternative methods.

The Economic Times reported that the ED stated: "Searches and investigation conducted by ED has revealed information regarding multiple individuals known for providing such tickets, including fake tickets through social media using Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram." During these raids, authorities seized various "incriminating materials," such as phones, laptops, and SIM cards. These items were allegedly used in the ticket sales "scam."
As investigations continue, the ED aims to address these irregularities and ensure fair access to concert tickets for all fans. The findings highlight the need for stricter regulations in ticket sales to prevent future scams and disappointments among concertgoers.
