Savi Review: Divya Khosla's Stellar Performance In A Gripping Thriller

Savi Review: Divya Khossla has mainly starred in movies where she plays the wife of the protagonist or is seen as the cute-bubbly girl. For the first time, she appears in a thriller titled Savi, which has hit the big screens today. Directed by Abhinay Deo, the film also stars Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Rane in lead roles. Is Savi worth your time and money? Find out in our review below.

The movie revolves around Savi (Divya Khossla), who lives in Liverpool, England, with her husband Nakul (Harshvardhan Rane) and their son. Nakul is arrested for allegedly murdering his boss, but Savi believes her husband is innocent. Due to an incident, Nakul's life is in danger in prison, prompting Savi to plan a prison break to save him. How she executes this plan and whether she succeeds forms the rest of the story.

Savi: A Must-Watch Thriller

Savi is an adaptation of the 2008 French thriller Pour Elle (Anything For Her). While I have not watched Pour Elle, Savi is a fresh new film for me. However, after watching the trailer of the French film, it is evident that Abhinay Deo has made significant changes by altering the genders of the characters. In Pour Elle, it's the wife who gets arrested and the husband tries to save her; in this Hindi adaptation, it’s the wife saving her husband.

The movie starts on a good note, but you will feel that the pace is quite slow initially. Once Savi begins her research about prison breaks and meets Dr. Paul (Anil Kapoor), the movie picks up. Post-interval, the film becomes much better with scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat to know what happens next. Mukesh Bhatt, the producer of the film, mentioned at the trailer launch that this film will shock you. Indeed, Deo has very smartly narrated the climax, leaving viewers guessing what and how Savi has done.

Talking about performances, Divya Khossla has given her career's best performance in this movie. She is simply excellent and proves that she has potential to carry such roles. We hope that after Savi, we will get to watch her in more strong roles. Anil Kapoor has an extended cameo and dons multiple looks in the film. He has been given some of the best dialogues and scenes, and he nails them. Also, he will make you laugh out loud. Harshvardhan Rane doesn't have much to do but performs well in his role.

When it comes to music, the song Khol Pinjra plays as a background score in pivotal scenes and leaves a strong mark.

Savi Review Final Verdict

Overall, Savi is a good thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat especially in the second half, and its climax will leave you shocked. Watch this one to see that Divya Khossla is surely very talented!
