When Filmibeat asked Karan Johar about his expectations for Devara following Baahubali's success in Hindi, he responded, "I was absolutely honored even then to present SS Rajamouli sir's vision and that kind of began a massive journey for Indian cinema, I think Baahubali will always be first pillar that kind of held pan-India cinema together." Comparing Devara with Baahubali, Karan added, "(Baahubali) will always be a reference for so much. I have mega expectation from Devara and for various reasons."

Karan mentioned that fans are eagerly anticipating the movie since it is NTR Jr's first solo release in years. He also noted that featuring Saif and Janhvi makes it a "true pan-India experience."

Discussing box office expectations, Karan stated, "I don't wanna put number because that would dilute and demean what Devara means to all of us as a cinematic experience but rest assured it's going to be a celebration on the 27th of September."

Notably, Devara has become the first Indian film to surpass $1 million in pre-sales in North America. It has sold approximately 35,000 tickets so far. The numbers are expected to rise significantly in the coming weeks.
