Kalki 2898 AD Marks Historic Box Office Collection On First Tuesday Of 2024

Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 6 (Hindi): Deepika Padukone and Prabhas' first collaboration in Kalki 2898 AD has been highly anticipated since its announcement. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film features a stellar cast including Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, and Amitabh Bachchan. Set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD, the movie's storyline, Amitabh Bachchan's unique avatar, his fight scenes with Prabhas, and the VFX have all garnered significant attention.

Released in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, Kalki 2898 AD had an impressive start at the box office across all versions. The Hindi version alone saw an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores. The film's numbers surged during the opening weekend, crossing the Rs 100 crores mark. Despite a notable drop on the first Monday, it continues to perform well at the box office.

According to Sacnilk's report, Kalki 2898 AD experienced a significant drop of over 58% on its first Monday (day 5), earning Rs 16.5 crores. On day 6 (first Tuesday), it further declined to Rs 14 crores. This brought the total collection to Rs 142 crores. Notably, it recorded the highest day 6 collection of 2024 and also achieved the highest first Tuesday collection of the year. Additionally, Kalki 2898 AD has surpassed Rs 600 crores at the worldwide box office.

The film is said to depict certain events from the Mahabharata set in 3102 BC. In an interaction with Deadline, Nag Ashwin clarified that "the movie does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus." He added that "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process."

Overall, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to capture audience interest with its unique storyline and high production values. The film's performance at the box office reflects its widespread appeal across different regions and languages.
