Deepika Padukone Was Pregnant While Filming Kalki 2898 AD's Climax

Kalki 2898 AD: Kalki 2898 AD is a significant project in Deepika Padukone's career. After completing the film, she announced her pregnancy with husband Ranveer Singh. Deepika, who portrays SUM-80, a pregnancy test object, was actually pregnant during filming. Ranveer was present on set, as revealed by Saswata Chatterjee.

Saswata Chatterjee, who played commander Manas in the film, shared an interesting anecdote about Ranveer Singh's reaction during a crucial scene. "Deepika is just ever-smiling. There is a scene in the film where I drag her by the hair. It was part of the last leg of the shoot and was shot in Mumbai because Deepika was pregnant by then. There was a lot of physical tussle in the scene, so I told Ranveer, don't worry, for more physically challenging scenes, there's a body double. He was so polite and humble. He smiled and said, I know, Dada," he said.

Deepika will next appear in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. Kalki 2898 AD also features Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani among others.

For those unfamiliar with the climax scene in Kalki 2898 AD, it involves intense physical conflict between commander Manas and Ashwatthama. This culminates in SUM-80 being dragged away by her hair.

Deepika and Ranveer tied the knot in 2018. They announced their first child's arrival earlier this year in February with a post featuring baby clothes, mittens, shoes, caps, etc. Baby Singh-Padukone is expected to arrive in September 2024.
