Deepak Tijori Explains Why 'Tipppsy' Lacks Female Superstar Presence

Deepak Tijori's latest directorial venture, 'Tipppsy', premiered in cinemas today, marking a significant moment for the filmmaker and his ensemble cast. The movie features Deepak Tijori himself alongside Sonia Birje, Alankrita Sahai, Kainaat Arora, Nazia Hussain, and Natasha Suri. The narrative unfolds around a vacation to Goa taken by a group of girls that takes an unexpected turn, plunging them into a murder mystery. Despite the presence of well-known actresses, the film does not boast of any superstars in its cast.

In a recent interaction with Filmibeat, Deepak Tijori shed light on his casting choices for 'Tipppsy'. He shared insights into the initial challenges he faced while considering casting female superstars. According to Tijori, conditions and demands made by potential leading ladies led him to rethink his strategy. "I did that hard work earlier; I had done that exercise. But, I think I realised, there were a lot of things that were coming in conditions like 'agar yeh hai toh main hoon, agar yeh nahi hai toh main nahi hoon, aur agar yeh hai toh main nahi hoon' (if she is there then I am there, if she is not there then I am not there, and if she is there then I am not there). When all these things started coming in front of me, I decided to stop and I came to know that it's impossible for me to go further with that," he explained.

'Tipppsy' Casting Insights Revealed

Tijori's decision to cast actresses who were more adaptable and free from such constraints seems to have been a turning point for the project. "So, immediately, I changed the whole scenario, and got girls who were not going to be having those kind of attitude and tantrums. Eventually, whatever happens, happens for the best, and I am blessed that I worked with these girls," he added, reflecting on the positive outcome of his decision.

The filmmaker also touched upon the skepticism he encountered from others about managing a film with five leading actresses. The concerns others raised initially did little to deter him; instead, Tijori was confident in his script and believed in the potential chemistry among the cast. "It depends upon the people you are working with. Initially, people had scared me. But, the script that I had written, I felt that these actresses will become friends," he remarked.

As 'Tipppsy' makes its way into theaters, audiences and critics alike are keen to see whether this unique blend of talent and narrative will resonate at the box office. With its intriguing plot and fresh casting approach, 'Tipppsy' stands as an example of Tijori's commitment to storytelling beyond conventional star power.
