Citara Launches Cinema Operations In Kashmir With Golden Era Film Festival Starting February 2025
Citara is advancing its mission to make cinema accessible by taking over operations of four screens in South and North Kashmir. Residents of Shopian, Pulwama, Handwara, and Baramullah can look forward to events like 'First Day First Show' and Kids Film Festival starting February 2025.
The company plans further expansion into Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Bhadarwah, Pahalgam, and Anantnag throughout the year. This move aims to enhance cinema experiences across these regions.

Pradeep Sharma, a well-known producer and founder of Citara, shared that their vision for bringing cinema to Kashmir aligns with the aspirations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lt. Governor Sinha. Citara is dedicated to offering 'First Day First Show' experiences in current locations and future expansions like Pahalgam and Anantnag.
Film writer and director Rumi Jaffrey expressed enthusiasm for this initiative. He stated that Kashmir has always been a dream location for storytellers. Citara's efforts will bring the excitement of big-screen cinema to the valley.
Saurabh Saxena, Executive Director at Citara, emphasized their readiness to provide quality 'First Day First Shows' and Kids Cinema to local communities. The introduction of Reels Cafe and Reels Point aims to boost employment opportunities for Kashmiri youth.
