Citadel Honey Bunny: Insights On Priyanka Chopra's Initial Casting Consideration Revealed By Raj & DK

In 2023, Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden starred in the Amazon Prime series Citadel. Executive producers, the Russo Brothers, announced multiple spin-offs set in various countries. The Indian version, titled Citadel Honey Bunny, is directed by Raj & DK and stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan as leads.

The trailer for Citadel Honey Bunny reveals that Varun and Samantha portray Nadia's (Priyanka's) parents. During a conversation with Filmibeat, Raj & DK discussed casting Priyanka due to the mother-daughter link. Raj mentioned, "We wrote 2-3 drafts of this story, before we settled on this one. In one of the earlier drafts, she was there in the story; it was like an interesting parallel cut story. But, Covid kind of messed up a lot of plans. We were supposed to shoot her segment first, somewhere in Europe."

"But, we weren't ready and the whole plans were delayed. We wrote another draft completely not going in that direction. So yes, there were ideas earlier," he added.

The trailer for Citadel Honey Bunny debuted recently at a grand event in Mumbai and has been well-received by fans of Varun and Samantha. The series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 7th November 2024.

Recently, the Italian series Citadel: Diana premiered on Amazon Prime Video featuring Matilda De Angelis. While Citadel with Priyanka and Richard received mixed reviews from critics, Citadel: Diana garnered positive feedback. Now, anticipation builds for Citadel Honey Bunny.
