Chhaya Kadam Explores Paranormal Beliefs Ahead Of Bardovi's 2024 Release
Chhaya Kadam has undoubtedly made 2024 her year with stellar performances in films like Laapataa Ladies and Madgaon Express. Her presence at the Cannes Film Festival was notable as her film, All We Imagine As Light, became the first Indian movie since 1994 to compete in the main competition and won the Grand Prix. Now, she is preparing for her upcoming horror film, Bardovi.
During a recent conversation with Filmibeat, Chhaya Kadam shared an intriguing experience about paranormal activities. When asked if she had ever encountered such events, she said, "I feel there's a ghost and a god inside a human. But, I recollect that recently I was shooting in Mussoorie, and there was a huge bungalow. The other members of the unit were shooting there since 3-4 days, and I joined later. We were shooting at night, and suddenly something happened and the lights went off, and rolling was stopped. So, I asked them what happened, let's shoot? No one said anything, they all were just waiting."

"So, I again asked what happened? Someone said nothing has happened, but when we shoot here this happens suddenly, and we have to wait for sometime and then start the work. Aur mujhe laga, yeh kya hai? So there, suddenly the lights go off and you have to wait. To believe it or to not believe it that depends on an individual, and I am from Konkan, so I have heard a lot of stories and I have spoken to people who have seen ghost, but I haven't seen it. However, I would like to see (laughs)," she added.
The actress also shared an interesting perspective on ghosts from her cultural background. When reminded of the recently released film Munjya during the interview, she explained how perceptions differ in Konkan. "For you Munjya is a ghost," she said. "But if I talk to my grandmother, she will say 'toh rakhana karto', means he is someone taking care of that place; he is a good person. So this happens in Konkan."
Bardovi is set for release on 2nd August 2024. Directed by Karan Shivajirao Chavan, the film features Chittaranjan Giri and Virat Madake alongside Chhaya Kadam.
Chhaya Kadam's versatility continues to shine through her diverse roles this year. From critically acclaimed performances to intriguing personal anecdotes about paranormal experiences, she remains a captivating figure in Bollywood.
