Ranchi Court Disposes Of Cheque Bounce Case Against Ameesha Patel After Full Payment Made
Ameesha Patel, a well-known Bollywood actress, resolved a legal issue involving a bounced cheque by paying Rs 2.5 crore to the complainant. This case was settled in a Ranchi court on Friday. The judicial magistrate, DN Shukla, concluded the matter after Ajay Kumar Singh, a filmmaker from Jharkhand, submitted an application regarding the payment.
In 2018, Singh accused Patel of fraud and cheque bounce. He claimed he had transferred approximately Rs 2.5 crore to her account for producing a film called 'Desi Magic'. However, the project did not move forward as planned. Consequently, Patel issued him a cheque for the same amount, which reportedly bounced.

The court's decision to dispose of the case came after Patel fulfilled her financial obligation to Singh. This development marked the end of the legal proceedings that began five years ago. The resolution allowed both parties to move past the dispute without further complications.
Patel is celebrated for her roles in successful films like 'Kaho Na Pyar Hai'. Despite this legal challenge, she continues to be recognised for her contributions to Indian cinema. The settlement of this case allows her to focus on future projects without any lingering legal issues.
This incident highlights the importance of ensuring financial transactions are handled with care in the film industry. It serves as a reminder for filmmakers and actors alike to maintain transparency and accountability in their professional dealings.
