Calculator: A Psychological Thriller Tackling Mental Health And Rape Issues In Society
Following the theatrical success of Accident or Conspiracy Godhra, soon to be available on OTT platforms, the creators have unveiled their next project. Produced by B.J. Purohit and directed by M.K. Shivaaksh, the film is named Calculator. This psychological thriller addresses sensitive issues like mental health and rape. A teaser shared online has generated significant interest.
The film, produced under Om Trinetra Films, promises a blend of horror, suspense, and psychological drama. The teaser opens with an image of fish in a pond, symbolising society's tendency to witness events but remain silent. It highlights that rape is not just a physical act but a lifelong trauma for the victim. Society often sees the survivor's madness but ignores their immense suffering.

The teaser intensifies with scenes depicting violence against women, blood-stained hands, and an ominous police siren. It transitions to a terrified woman and disturbing imagery of mental turmoil post-assault. The audience is asked: Can you calculate her pain? The 1-minute 20-second teaser leaves a strong impression by addressing mental health and rape—two often overlooked societal issues.
Calculator delves into these social concerns, highlighting the stigma surrounding mental illnesses. As suggested in the teaser, people often ignore the underlying pain when witnessing someone struggling with mental health. The film aims to raise awareness about mental health disorders while portraying the deep-rooted trauma of sexual violence.
Producer B.J. Purohit emphasized the film's significance: Calculator tells a story focused on mental health challenges—a topic largely neglected by society. It narrates the pain of families battling mental illness due to ignorance and insensitivity. The goal is to spread awareness about mental disorders and convey that without empathy and proper treatment, this issue cannot be resolved.
Director M.K. Shivaaksh elaborated on the film's purpose: Calculator also addresses rape sensitively, aiming to change societal attitudes and secure justice for victims. This project is more than just a film; it's a campaign—a voice for those whose pain has been ignored by society. We hope Calculator touches viewers' hearts and spreads awareness about mental health.
Calculator will release next year in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu languages, ensuring its reach across diverse audiences. The cast details will be announced soon.
