Bollywood Seeks Respite With Mr & Mrs Mahi And Savi's Upcoming Releases

Mr & Mrs Mahi and Savi Box Office: The year 2024 has not been favourable for Bollywood. Several high-profile films expected to perform well at the box office have underperformed. Conversely, a few smaller films have managed to do reasonably well. However, recent releases have largely been unsuccessful. This week, Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's "Mr & Mrs Mahi" and Divya Khossla's "Savi" are set to release.

Filmibeat interviewed producer and film business expert, Girish Johar, regarding the buzz around "Mr & Mrs Mahi" and "Savi". Johar mentioned, "Mr & Mrs Mahi has some kind of attraction. Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor have their fan following, and the music and promotions are at a decent level. Awareness for the film is also quite fair. It targets a multiplex audience in metropolitan cities; it's an urban film aimed at the youth. There's a cinema lovers day planned on the release date, which I think would attract some attention at the box office."

"Similarly for Savi, it will have a limited release. The trailer is intriguing, and its success will depend entirely on word of mouth. Thrillers tend to perform well if they receive positive word of mouth. The good part is that both releases belong to different genres, offering audiences varied options. The open window and cinema lovers day ticket pricing might also benefit Savi," he added.

Discussing the potential opening range for both movies, Johar stated, "Savi's opening can be under Rs. 1 crore, and I would be happy if Mr & Mrs Mahi opens somewhere around Rs. 3 crore. It would be a comfortable start."

It remains to be seen how "Mr & Mrs Mahi" and "Savi" will fare at the box office.
