Binodiini Box Office Collection Day 2: How Rukmini's Film Compares To Khadaan's Opening Numbers

In the midst of the ongoing excitement for Khadaan in Bengal, superstar Dev has presented fans with another Bengali film, "Binodiini - Ekti Natir Upakhyan." This biographical drama, produced under Dev Entertainment Ventures, features Rukmini Maitra in the lead role. Directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, it is one of the most anticipated Bengali films this year. Released on 23rd January 2025, coinciding with Subhash Jayanti, it faced competition from Srijit Mukherji's "Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei."

The film "Binodiini - Ekti Natir Upakhyan" stars Rukmini Maitra as Binodini Dasi, a famous theatre artist from West Bengal. Directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, this movie marks his directorial debut. It opened to mostly positive reviews from both fans and critics. According to Sacnilk, the film began its theatrical run with a decent start, earning approximately Rs 7 lakhs on its release day.

On its second day at the box office, Rukmini's "Binodiini" experienced a decline in earnings. The film managed to collect around Rs 4 lakhs on Friday. Consequently, the total nett collection for the first two days stands at an estimated Rs 11 lakhs across Bengal.

Despite generating positive buzz, "Binodiini" has not managed to reach even half of Dev's "Khadaan" opening day figures within two days. According to Sacnilk updates, "Khadaan" achieved an impressive Rs 68 lakhs on its first day alone.

Cast and Storyline

With an estimated budget of Rs 4.5 crore, "Binodiini - Ekti Natir Upakhyan" features a strong supporting cast including Kaushik Ganguly, Mir Afsar Ali, Om Sahani and Chandan Roy Sanyal among others. The film narrates the life story of Binodini Dasi, highlighting her transformation from a courtesan to a celebrated figure in Bengali theatre while challenging societal norms.
