Gandhi 3 is the third installment in the Rupinder Gandhi franchise. Rupinder Gandhi was a national-level football player who turned gangster. Despite his criminal record, many saw him as a youth icon with a Robinhood-like image. He was killed in September 2003.

The Rupi Gill starrer had a slow start with an opening day collection of Rs 25 lakhs but saw decent growth over the weekend. Its highest single-day collection was on day 3 (first Sunday) with Rs 1.49 crores. However, there was a significant drop on day 4 (first Monday). According to Sacnilk, Bibi Rajni's earnings dropped by over 50% on day 4 to Rs 66 lakhs, bringing its total collection to Rs 2.96 crores.
