Director Atul Sabharwal shared insights into casting choices for his film. He remarked, "All the actors including Apashakti, Ishwak, Rahul Bose perfectly fit the bill for their characters. The artists worked hard to get into the skin of the character, making it easier for me to bring into life what I had picturized in my mind during the pre-production house. Ishwak and Aparshakti were the right choices for Ashok and Pushkin."
Sabharwal's previous works include films like "Aurangzeb" and "Class of 83." He revealed that "Berlin" was inspired by his short story, "The Decipherer." He shared that the idea came to him while visiting a cafe, where he first imagined a deaf-mute waiter.
