Director Siddharth P Malhotra Unveils Behind-the-Scenes Of 'Maharaj' Holi Song
Director Siddharth P Malhotra recently shared insights about filming the Holi song 'Holi Ke Rang Ma' for his trending film 'Maharaj'. He revealed that the outdoor dance sequence was shot under extreme heat, making it one of the "most nerve-wracking days" for actors Jaideep Ahlawat, Junaid Khan, Shalini Pandey, and the background dancers. To help the cast cope with the temperature, the crew designed unique transparent slippers to perform on the stone floor. Malhotra described choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant as "a strict, no-nonsense taskmaster."
The film has received widespread praise from both audiences and critics. 'Maharaj' has topped streaming platform charts in several countries worldwide. Malhotra expressed his gratitude on social media, thanking Aditya Chopra and the YRF team for their support. He wrote, "Once again, he allowed me to tell a story that must be told, and I'm glad it's receiving all the love in 'Maharaj'. Thank you is too small a word for the love and gratitude I'll always have towards you, Adi, and the team at YRF."

Taking to Instagram, Malhotra shared memories from shooting 'Holi Ke Rang Ma'. He recalled Jaideep enduring the scorching heat without complaint and mentioned special transparent slippers made for him. He also noted how difficult it was for Junaid and Shalini due to the heat while shooting. Vaibhavi Merchant's strict approach ensured everything was perfect.
Previously, Malhotra praised Junaid Khan's debut performance in 'Maharaj'. He admired Khan's passion and dedication, saying, "They say a fruit doesn't fall far from the tree, which is truly the case for Junaid. He's got his work ethics from his father [Aamir Khan] for sure, and acting capabilities too." 'Maharaj' marks Malhotra's return to directing after his last project, 'Hichki', which was a blockbuster.
Malhotra's Instagram post highlighted how challenging it was to shoot under harsh conditions. The special transparent slippers were an innovative solution to help actors perform comfortably on hot stone floors.
The film's success has been remarkable with its widespread acclaim. Topping charts globally indicates its strong reception among viewers. This achievement underscores Malhotra's storytelling prowess and ability to connect with audiences worldwide.
