Baby John Box Office Report: Varun Dhawan's Film Struggles To Cross Rs 40 Crores After Two Weeks

Varun Dhawan's latest film, 'Baby John,' hit theatres on 25th December 2024, coinciding with the Christmas holiday. Directed by Kalees, this Hindi adaptation of Thalapathy Vijay's Tamil hit 'Theri' was highly anticipated. Despite the initial excitement generated by its trailer and songs, the film has faced challenges in attracting audiences to cinemas.

Produced by Atlee, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande, 'Baby John' marks Keerthy Suresh's Bollywood debut. The action-packed movie also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav, with Salman Khan making a special appearance. Despite a strong start at the box office, the film saw a decline in weekday collections.

The movie opened with Rs 11.25 crore on its first day, marking Varun Dhawan's best opening in five years. By the end of its first week, it had collected Rs 32.65 crore. However, during its second week, it managed to earn only Rs 6.36 crore. According to Sacnilk, on its second Tuesday (yesterday), it earned around Rs 25 lakhs, bringing the total estimated nett collection to Rs 39.01 crore over two weeks.

'Baby John' is reportedly made on a substantial budget of Rs 160 crore. The film's post-theatrical digital streaming rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video. It is speculated that the movie might premiere on Prime towards the end of February. However, there hasn't been any official announcement regarding this yet.
