Baby John Box Office Day 9 Prediction: Varun Dhawan's Film Expected To See Major Collection Dip
Varun Dhawan's latest film, Baby John, hit theatres on Christmas 2024, offering a festive treat for his fans. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee and Murad Khetani, this action drama features a star-studded cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff, and Sanya Malhotra. The film is a Bollywood remake of the 2016 Tamil movie Theri, which starred Thalapathy Vijay and Samantha. Its intriguing trailer and stellar cast generated significant buzz.
Keerthy Suresh's Bollywood debut in Baby John has been widely discussed, and Salman Khan's cameo added to the excitement. This film marks Varun Dhawan's second portrayal of a police officer. Despite the initial hype surrounding its release, Baby John has struggled at the box office following its opening weekend.

The film began its second week with some positive momentum. On day 7 (first Tuesday), it saw a slight increase in earnings, collecting Rs 2.15 crores. This was followed by Rs 2.75 crores on day 8 (second Wednesday), bringing its total earnings to Rs 35.40 crores. The New Year celebrations appeared to have positively impacted Baby John's box office performance.
However, projections indicate that Baby John may experience a significant drop in revenue today (day 9/second Thursday). It is expected to earn between Rs 1-1.5 crores, edging closer to the Rs 37 crore mark.
In an interview with India Today, Varun Dhawan discussed drawing inspiration from Theri for Baby John: "When Atlee came with this film, there was a reason behind it, and he said that we had to change a lot of the geography of the film. We have to use it as an adaptation and not really a proper remake, and I think that's what's done. Like you see, a lot of the frames and a lot of the story angles are different. So, if someone comes in expecting a book-by-book remake, they will be disappointed because that's not what the film is. It's an adaptation. We're not running away from that, but it's more of an adaptation."
