Baby John Box Office Prediction Day 11: Varun Dhawan's Film Faces Competition From YJHD Re-Release

Varun Dhawan's film 'Baby John' is not performing well at the box office. Directed by Kalees, this Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil hit 'Theri' featuring Thalapathy Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is struggling to attract viewers. The movie, produced by Jio Studios, A for Apple & Cine1 Studios Production, stars Varun Dhawan alongside Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav. Released on 25th December 2024, it received mostly positive reviews from both fans and critics. According to Sacnilk, 'Baby John' earned approximately Rs 11.25 crore on its opening day, marking Varun's highest opener in five years. However, after a strong start, the film saw a decline during weekdays and collected Rs 32.65 crore in its first week.

On its second Friday (3rd January), the film experienced a significant drop in earnings. Reports from Sacnilk indicate that it made around Rs 45 lakhs that day, bringing its total nett collection to an estimated Rs 36.85 crore over ten days.

'Baby John' faces stiff competition from Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', which was re-released recently. This has impacted Varun's film significantly at the box office. With current trends suggesting continued struggles for the action-thriller, it is expected to earn around Rs 50 lakhs on its second Saturday.

'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is anticipated to dominate ticket sales this weekend as audiences indulge in nostalgia.
