Baby John Box Office Collection: Varun Dhawan's Film Earns Rs 32.65 Crores In Week 1
Varun Dhawan's latest film, Baby John, has been a hot topic this year. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee and Murad Khetani, this action drama is the Bollywood adaptation of the Tamil movie Theri. The original starred Thalapathy Vijay and Samantha. Baby John features Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff in key roles, with Atlee, Kalees, and Sumit Arora as writers.
Jackie Shroff plays the main antagonist in Baby John, while Keerthy Suresh makes her industry debut. Varun Dhawan takes on the role of a cop for the second time in his career. Despite significant anticipation, the film struggled to reach Rs 35 crores in its first week at the box office.

The film experienced a slight increase during its opening weekend but saw a sharp decline on its first Monday. However, New Year's Eve brought some relief. According to Sacnilk, Baby John earned Rs 1.85 crores on day six (first Monday) and increased to Rs 2.15 crores on day seven (first Tuesday), bringing its total earnings to Rs 32.65 crores.
Baby John faces stiff competition from Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, which has overshadowed Varun Dhawan's film. While Baby John earned Rs 2.15 crores on December 31st, Pushpa 2 collected Rs 6.25 crores in its fourth week. Currently, Baby John's total collection for the first week stands at Rs 32.65 crores.
In an interview with India Today, Varun Dhawan discussed drawing inspiration from Theri for Baby John: "When Atlee came with this film, there was a reason behind it... we had to change a lot of the geography of the film... it's more of an adaptation." He emphasized that viewers expecting a direct remake might be disappointed as it is an adaptation rather than a scene-by-scene reproduction.
