Baby John Box Office Collection Day 4: Varun Dhawan's Film Struggles To Reach 25 Crores Amidst Competition

Varun Dhawan's latest film, 'Baby John,' directed by Kalees and co-produced by Atlee, initially performed well at the box office. Released on 25th December, it coincided with Christmas, drawing audiences to cinemas. This Hindi adaptation of the Tamil hit 'Theri' (2016) stars Varun Dhawan alongside Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav. Salman Khan also makes a notable cameo appearance in the film.

The film opened strongly with a collection of Rs 11.25 crore, marking Varun Dhawan's best opening in five years. However, on its second day, it experienced a significant drop of about 57.78% in audience numbers, earning Rs 4.75 crore according to Sacnilk reports.

Despite a slight increase in earnings on its first Saturday, 'Baby John' continued to progress slowly at the box office. The film collected an estimated Rs 4.25 crore on Saturday, bringing its total earnings over four days to Rs 23.90 crore.

A report from Bollywood Hungama indicated that due to lacklustre responses in northern theatres, 'Baby John' screenings are being replaced by the Hindi version of the Malayalam action film 'Marco.' This change is attributed to 'Marco's' growing popularity and positive reviews from both fans and critics.

'Marco,' known for its intense action sequences, has been well-received across India. Actor Unni Mukundan shared on Twitter (X) that an additional 140 shows were scheduled for the Hindi version of 'Marco,' reflecting its increasing demand.

The shift in theatre schedules highlights the competitive nature of cinema releases and audience preferences. While 'Baby John' had a promising start, it faces challenges from other films like 'Marco,' which continue to captivate audiences with their unique offerings.
