Baby John Advance Booking Collection Day 1 Prediction: Varun Dhawan's Film Expected To Fall Short Of Jugjugg Jeeyo

Varun Dhawan is gearing up to make Christmas 2024 special for his fans with the release of Baby John. Directed by Kalees, this film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Murad Khetani, Atlee, and Priya Atlee. The movie also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Zara Zyanna, and Jackie Shroff. Notably, it marks Keerthy Suresh's Bollywood debut as the female lead.

Baby John is a remake of Atlee's 2016 hit Theri. This action thriller sees Varun Dhawan in the role of a cop for the second time after Dishoom. Keerthy Suresh plays his wife, while Jackie Shroff takes on the role of the main antagonist. The trailer has generated significant interest, and advance bookings began three days before its release.

The initial response to Baby John's advance booking was lukewarm. Within the first 24 hours, it did not reach Rs 1 crore in bookings. Film business expert Rohit Jaiswal predicts that the film will earn around Rs 4-4.5 crores from day one advance bookings.

If these predictions hold true, Baby John will not surpass Varun's previous film Jugjugg Jeeyo in terms of advance bookings. Jugjugg Jeeyo had collected Rs 5.39 crores and remains Varun's highest advance booking record to date.

In an interview with India Today, Varun discussed drawing inspiration from Theri for Baby John. He mentioned that Atlee wanted to adapt rather than directly remake the original film. "When Atlee came with this film, there was a reason behind it," he said. "We have to use it as an adaptation and not really a proper remake."

Varun further explained that while some elements remain similar, many story angles and frames differ from Theri. He emphasized that audiences expecting a direct remake might be disappointed as Baby John is more of an adaptation.
