Babil Khan Reflects On His Journey Of Surviving University Life In London With Limited Funds
Babil Khan, known for his roles in Qala, Friday Night Plan, and The Railway Men, recently reminisced about his university days in London. He shared how studying abroad was both challenging and rewarding. Babil fondly remembered an interview moment where his father, Irrfan Khan's honesty left a deep impression on him.
Living on a tight budget, Babil received 600 pounds monthly. London's high expenses and college life quickly depleted it. "I went to London on minimum pocket money," he said. To make ends meet, he worked at bars and stadiums like Lord's Cricket Ground and Wembley Stadium. "I worked bars and bartended at Lord's, Wembley, and even some intense football stadiums where fans would literally assault you if you didn't pour that Guinness right," he added.

To stretch his finances further, Babil found creative ways to earn money. He used his skills to create music videos for rappers. This side hustle helped him manage despite financial constraints. "I shot music videos for rappers, took ketchup from McDonald's, and bread from my friend when the pocket money ran out because 600 pounds in London for a month is barely enough-ask anyone attending uni in London."
Besides videography, Babil also bartended at notable venues like Lord's Stadium and Wembley. He fondly recalls these shifts and humorously challenges others to pour better than him. These jobs not only provided extra income but enriched his student life by allowing him to interact with diverse crowds in iconic settings.
Babil reflected on those times with pride and resilience. He wished his father could have witnessed his growth through those struggles into a stronger individual. He expressed, "I wish I could have shown him that boy baba watched grow up but not quite, made it out and made it."
Future Prospects
On the professional front, Babil has several projects lined up though details remain undisclosed.
