From Stutter To Stardom: Sharad Kelkar Voices Baahubali In New Series

Mumbai, 8th May, 2024: The beloved Indian fantasy franchise, Baahubali, extends its universe with an exciting announcement from Disney+ Hotstar. The platform is set to introduce 'Baahubali: Crown of Blood', a prequel series that delves deeper into the saga of Baahubali and Bhallaladeva. This time, the duo unites to defend the majestic kingdom of Mahishmati and its throne from a formidable foe, the enigmatic warlord Raktadeva. Crafted by the creative minds at Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks, and produced by the visionary S.S. Rajamouli alongside Sharad Devarajan & Shobu Yarlagadda, this animated series is directed and produced by Jeevan J. Kang & Navin John. Promising an immersive animated adventure filled with action, brotherhood, betrayal, and heroism, 'Baahubali: Crown of Blood' is poised to captivate audiences on Disney+ Hotstar starting 17th May, 2024.

Sharad Kelkar, celebrated for lending his voice to Baahubali and known as a distinguished voice-over artist, has opened up about his personal journey. Overcoming childhood stuttering, Kelkar's life took a significant turn post-Baahubali. He reflects on his transformation, stating, "A boy from a small town, who stammered, became the voice of Baahubali. My life completely changed after the film." His involvement in 'Baahubali: Crown of Blood' marks another milestone in his career. Kelkar adds, "The characters and the emotions are the same; in fact, all the voices in Hindi are the same. Unlike the film where I had Prabhas Garu for reference, this time I had to voice the character first before it went into animation. It was a challenge that required me to use my imagination extensively."

The upcoming series 'Baahubali: Crown of Blood' not only promises to be a visual spectacle but also aims to enrich the Baahubali universe with its untold stories.
