Azaad Collection Day 1: Insights On Aaman Devgan And Rasha Thadani's Debut Film Performance
Bollywood director Abhishek Kapoor has launched two new actors, Aaman Devgn and Rasha Thadani, in his latest film 'Azaad'. Released on January 17, the Hindi period drama marks the Bollywood debut of Ajay Devgn's nephew and Raveena Tandon's daughter. The film hit cinemas alongside Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency', generating moderate interest among audiences.
The film is set in 1920s India and features a strong cast including Ajay Devgn, Diana Penty, Mohit Malik, and Piyush Mishra. Aaman Devgn plays Govind, a stable boy from a poor background with dreams of riding a grand horse. Rasha Thadani portrays Janki, the daughter of a zamindar.

Despite positive reactions to Aaman and Rasha's performances, 'Azaad' had a slow start at the box office. Early reports from Sacnilk indicate that by 5:20 pm on its opening day, the film earned around Rs 60 lakhs. Morning show occupancy was at 5.70%, which increased to 11.99% in the afternoon. Evening and night shows are expected to see further improvement.
The movie created some buzz with its trailer and popular song 'Uyi Amma'. However, initial box office numbers suggest it might take time for collections to rise significantly.
'Azaad' was produced with an impressive budget of Rs 100 crore. Netflix has secured the digital streaming rights for the film post its theatrical release. While an exact date for its OTT premiere hasn't been announced yet, it will be available on Netflix after its cinema run concludes.
As Aaman Devgn and Rasha Thadani step into Bollywood with 'Azaad', their performances have caught audience attention despite the film's modest start. With a substantial budget backing it and future streaming on Netflix planned, there is potential for growth in viewership over time.
